A big day for me today as my alter-ego, the musical director of Lympstone South West Telecoms Brass Band. We are competing in a contest at Weston-super-Mare so the majority of my day will be taken up with music. What a life I lead!
Never the less a few things to report from the garden so far today………it’s 10.45……… A Collared Dove decided it would be a good idea to chase a Magpie into the apple tree and then out again. I would have expected the other way around but the Magpie had obviosly made an attempt on the Collared Doves eggs or young and wasn’t going to be allowed to get away with it and I hope it didn’t. I wonder how much damage they actually do. My guess would be loads!
The sun is shining brightly and this has brought the insects out. A Holly Blue has fluttered around and a quick walk around to see what else is in the garden has revealed a large White Tailed BumblebeeBombous Lucorum and the first Marmalade Hoverfly of the season.Marmalade_hoverfly
