I took delivery yesterday of a new Sigma lens and with only a tiny bit of light left I managed to get this superb photo of the Cock Blackbird who shares the garden with us. Read all about it on the link. I feel that I am going to be able to post some very nice shots in the future as it performed magnificently and I am full y covered with a lens for every occasion.
Yesterday was in fact a great day for our regular bird visitors. I set up the camera from my bathroom window…the bathroom hide…….! I use two pillows to rest the camera and lens and and then point it out of the window. This is a great way to work, the camera is really secure and stable and any birds are unaware of your presence. Visiting were Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Blue Tits, and House Sparrows. I took some great shots of my favourite Collared Dove who was there with his mate! We had a cock Sparrow showing really well and I have posted these shots plus the collared Dove on the Gallery
