Its been a fascinating week in the garden. Have discovered that Buff-tailed bumblebee- Bombus terrestris pops out of hibernation as soon as the sun shines and makes a “bee-line” for the winter flowering Mahonia in the front garden. I am currently without my trusty macro lens so havn’t managed any really great photos yet but here is one that’s worth a look. Also a flock of Canada Geese were heard passing over early the other morning. here is a link to my Web Gallery showing all the Hoverflies and Butterflies seen so far. Web Gallery My new weekly update from the Urban Naturalist can be found here. Why not take a look.Download urban_naturalist.pdf
